We hope you find the site useful and easy to use.

Though the web address might have led you to believe the site was something to do with exchanging the infants of bears, if that's what you expected you'll be disappointed. No cuddly bears will be sold or traded here.

The History

This social network website has been primarily set up to be an easier way for Christian Blues and Christian Old Blues—present and past pupils of Christ's Hospital School (CH)—to keep in touch and support each other. Speaking from experience, we know that with busy lives at Christ's Hospital, university, work, and all the other distractions, keeping in contact via email and phone is sometimes just too much hassle and can take too long.

It often sounds like a good idea but we all know how easy it is to let things slip! We realised that this would be an ideal opportunity to develop a social network website, since Paul urges us, “let us not give up meeting together, as some are in habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25 (NIV)). Having it on the internet should make it accessible to anybody, wherever you end up in the world.

The Name

Why the name? CUBE stands for Christian Union Blues Exchange. We wanted a name which embraced all the elements that we hope this site will contain: it's about Christianity (look around the site for more on that), it is a place where we can meet together, and it's aimed primarily at anyone who's ever had anything to do with CH (that's the ‘Blues’ part).

And it happens that cubes have Biblical significance. In Revelation (the last book in most Bibles), the new Jerusalem is in the shape of a cube. The city which Christians will, after the end of this world, inhabit forevermore in paradise, worshipping Jesus glorified. We hope this site will be a support for all Christians out there to share stories—of difficulties and joys—as we wait until we enter that future cube.

The Stuff

But fear not: you do not have to be a current or past pupil or staff member of CH to use the site! Anybody is welcome to use it to:

By including resources we hope to make this site more than simply a social network: it's also a place to grow in faith and investigate some more. The Resources pages will include teaching resources, events and fellowship, recommendations and reviews on anything, and we might even have some fun and games (for when you need an excuse for a break from revision or work!)

The Bit Where You Come In
